About this format

A 120-minute hands-on workshop. Participants come with three news stories they've seen in the past week — anything about government spending, public debt, taxes, inflation, or 'how do we pay for it'. The host walks the room through a simple reframing toolkit; small groups then work through their own clippings.

Designed for people who keep hearing the same household-budget framing and want a confident response. No prior knowledge needed; the host pack includes a one-page reframing crib sheet and worked examples.

Discussion prompts

  1. Which headline framing was hardest to reframe? Why?
  2. Where did 'common sense' actually mislead us?
  3. What's the conversation you're now confident enough to have?
  4. What one piece of evidence would change a sceptic's mind?
